General Psychiatric for Adults
Initial Appointment
The initial 90-minute telehealth (in person option coming soon) evaluation includes a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation with the goal of understanding your unique concerns and goals. The goal is to address your concerns and symptoms, not just label a condition. We will discuss your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, current and previous medications, and any other current or past factors that have influenced what you are experiencing.
Building a therapeutic relationship where you feel heard and understood in the most important aspect of our interactions. Together we will develop a treatment plan. This plan may include medication, referrals to other services (eg. neuropsychological testing, labs), and general recommendations to help optimize support.
If you have a complex mental health or medical history, additional appointments or a longer appointment maybe required. I do not want you or I to feel rushed into making any decisions without all the needed information.
Follow up Appointments
Ongoing follow up 40 minute telehealth (in person option coming soon) medication management appointments for established patients will discuss effectiveness of medication, your current symptoms, and monitor for side effects. Based on these, we can adjust your treatment plan to optimize effectiveness of the medication without adverse effects. Throughout treatment we will discuss and update your goals that align with your changing life and feelings.
Psychotherapy
Brief psychotherapy will be provided during appointments as well. I encourage my clients to also have an individual psychotherapist or be involved in group psychotherapy to compliment medication management at this clinic and enhance your mental health.

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Initial Appointment
The initial 90-minute telehealth (in person option coming soon) evaluation includes a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation including you and your child. We will discuss developmental history, medical and psychiatric history, current and previous medications, school performance, social interactions, and any other factors that may be influencing their mental health. As a parent you know your child best and have a wealth of knowledge about their health and well being. Older kids and teens will be given the opportunity to speak with me with you present but also individually. This helps to establish ownership of their health and share any concerns they have that they may want to discuss confidentially.
If evaluating for ADHD, input from your child’s school/teachers is important because how someone acts at home can be different to how they act at school.
Together with you and your child/teen we will set goals that focus on areas of concern and develop a treatment plan that may include medication, referrals to other services (eg. neuropsychological testing, labs), and general recommendations to help optimize support. With children and teens it is important to start low and go slow with medication and follow evidence based recommendations.

A Note on Teen Privacy:
In Washington State, teens aged 13 and older have the legal right to consent to their own mental health treatment. This means that adolescents can seek care confidentially, without parental consent or notification. If a teen chooses to involve a parent or guardian, a Release of Information (ROI) form needs to be completed. Parental/Guardian involvement is encouraged but is always the teen’s choice.
